Vanguard Goes Sidewinder and Talks Tariffs

BOOTH W2701 Michael Wiener discusses trends, products, and what to expect at the Vanguard booth (W2701) at InfoComm 2025

What is your company’s main focus at the show this year?

Michael Wiener: Vanguard’s main focus at this year’s show will be discussing the tariff situation. Should the tariff issue be miraculously resolved before the show our main focus will be our Infinity controllers.

What buzzwords do you expect to be the talk of InfoComm 2025?

MW: The potential terrible impact of tariffs on our industry.

How does InfoComm inspire you?

MW: Vanguard is inspired because this is the bestattended show of the year affecting our industry. All the key decision makers will be in attendance.

What was the inspiration behind the new Sidewinder LED, and what makes it unique in the industry?

MW: The inspiration for the “Sidewinder” product was the need for a display to not occupy wall space or window views when not in use. In boardrooms wall space can be at a premium. Whether permanently installed in a ceiling or hung on supports the Sidewinder can be rolled down for viewing and then rolled up and be out of the way the rest of the time. Another application is cruise ships, where a display, when not in use can be rolled up and reduce the exposure to salt air and salt water.

The Sidewinder has an epoxy resin coating that makes it impact, salt air and water resistant. Even though the Sidewinder consists of many individual horizontal modules, when in place the surface is perfectly flat, showing no horizontal lines.

Jetbuilt Empowers Integrators With Tariff Navigation Tools

BOOTH 4369 Jetbuilt is introducing a suite of resources designed to help integrators proactively manage the challenges associated with global tariffs. As trade policies continue to shift and evolve, Jetbuilt is stepping up to provide greater transparency, accuracy and support for audiovisual professionals navigating uncertain pricing environments.

Tariffs often introduce unpredictable cost increases at the product level, affecting dealer pricing and profit margins. As price changes are detected, Jetbuilt automatically flags any impacted items on active projects—a feature exclusive to Jetbuilt—lerting users immediately when a quoted item requires review. Jetbuilt’s level of responsiveness ensures quotes are always accurate and up-to-date, even in the face of global trade conditions.

Another powerful tool is Jetbuilt’s in-app project registration feature, which allows integrators to lock in pricing with manufacturers at the time of proposal. The registered projects are often honored

by vendors for a defined time period, reducing the risk of unexpected increases. The registration feature is unique to Jetbuilt and is not currently available on competing platforms.

Manufacturers connected to Jetbuilt’s registration system can view which of their products are being quoted and collaborate directly with integrators to ensure any potential tariffs are accounted for. This functionality not only helps manufacturers provide better service but also empowers integrators to safeguard their margins by eliminating pricing ambiguity.

optional disclaimer text can also be added in the acceptance page of proposals to notify clients that additional tariffs may apply if imposed before project approval.

To further support integrators, Jetbuilt now enables the addition of a tariff fee factor within company settings. The tariff fee factor can be applied as a flat rate or percentage and is standardized across all team members as a locked factor. It’s integrated into the equipment section of the quote, ensuring proper tax treatment and consistency, especially for global teams. An

Finally, Jetbuilt is actively working with industry-leading manufacturers to build out new tariffspecific pricing fields and support tools. As a cloud-based platform, Jetbuilt can roll out these updates immediately, offering unmatched agility to support integrators with the tools they need to quote confidently, protect margins and communicate clearly with clients.

Visionary Brings Extreme Networks Fabric Solution to ProAV Endpoints

BOOTH 3215 Visionary is joining forces with Extreme Networks to deliver an integration of Visionary’s PacketAV Matrix Series with Extreme’s network Fabric solution. This industry-first collaboration simplifies AV network deployment and management, setting a new standard for scalability and efficiency in professional AV environments.

Extreme Fabric is an end-to-end, automated, and secure network fabric solution that automates and streamlines the configuration of devices on a network. In traditional setups, IT administrators must manually configure network settings such as VLANs, QoS, and traffic priorities for each device, which can be time-consuming and error-prone, especially in large-scale deployments. Extreme Fabric Attach, a feature within Extreme Fabric, eliminates these manual steps

by enabling devices to automatically announce their requirements to the network. The network then dynamically provisions these devices with the correct settings, ensuring secure and optimized connectivity.

While Extreme Fabric has proven effective in other industries, Visionary is the first to bring this capability to professional AV endpoints. The integration of Visionary’s PacketAV Matrix

Series with Extreme Fabric is revolutionizing how AV endpoints are deployed and managed. Tangible benefits include Plug and Play deployment (Visionary endpoints connect seamlessly to the network, with Extreme Fabric Attach automatically assigning them to the appropriate VLANs or service paths, thereby reducing setup time and complexity); dynamic flexibility (integration allows devices to be operational almost instantly, enhancing responsiveness to largescale events); enhanced security and performance (Extreme Fabric segments AV traffic from other network data, ensuring high-priority handling of critical audio and video streams while safeguarding against unauthorized access); and scalable growth (as facilities expand, new Visionary endpoints can be effortlessly integrated in into the network without extensive reconfiguration).

BOOTH 3261 Roland Professional A/V is launching the new VenuSet control panel app and workflow enhancements for its acclaimed product lineup.

One of the biggest challenges for AV system integrators is providing clients with a basic, easyto-understand control interface that streamlines operation for novice users. The new VenuSet app for iPad meets this need, offering a friendly, customizable solution for remotely operating the V-8HD, V-80HD, V-160HD, VR-6HD, VR120HD, and future Roland products.

VenuSet enables control of video switching, audio levels, scene memory recall, Graphics Presenter, GPO, and more. VenuSet for iPad is available now. In Q3 2025, Windows and macOS versions will be available for computer-based workflows.

When using the V-160HD Streaming Video Switcher with the VC-100UHD 4K Video Scaler, it’s now possible to remotely switch ROI windows on the VC-100UHD via a network connection. This allows operators to create multiple shots with fewer cameras, streamlining production workflows.

Pairing the P-20HD Instant Video Replayer with a compatible Roland video switcher/AV mixer creates a complete broadcast switching

and playback solution ready to handle nearly any local production. The Version 2.0 update provides integration with the V-80HD, V-160HD, VR-6HD, and VR-120HD, enabling remote playback over LAN/RS-232.

Graphics Presenter is a professional title and motion graphics software solution for select Roland video products. The Production Content Series Part One update adds over 40 templates, including new sports-related content, attractive general event templates, and a presentation timer. president and CEO of Shure, and Jason Antinori, senior solution architect and program lead, Intelligent Building Centre of Excellence, for TELUS. Audience questions will be encouraged as well.

The user experience will no doubt be a topic of conversation. For example, Hintze expects data collection will soon help room control systems adapt to the needs of users in real time. “Users are looking for their technology to anticipate more of their needs without always having to be prompted,” he explained. “In the next several years, control systems will continue to make improvements to simplify the user experience while also delivering a higher ROI for the teams that deploy these spaces.”

Hutto sees three big trends that are reshaping AV workflows, starting with the acceleration of demand for seamless hybrid experiences. He also believes convergence is redefining the integrator’s role into that of a “convergence architect,” a professional who is fluent across multiple disciplines. Plus, there’s a shift within the industry from product to experience.

“These trends are exactly why conversations like the ones happening on our panel are so important. They’re not just reflections, they’re roadmaps,” Hutto said. “Pro AV’s future depends on leaders who are willing to set the pace and define what comes next.”
